Muskat Studios is a professional lithography studio and
gallery, owned and operated by Master Printer Carolyn Muskat. Anchored
within a 200 year old tradition of collaboration and artistic creation,
the studio provides a center for artists to explore lithography.
Muskat Studios prides itself on its ability to offer artists an open,
professional atmosphere in which to develop their images.
Muskat Studios specializes in the creation of original
lithographs in collaboration with regional and national artists. The
Gallery hosts two to four exhibitions a year relating to paper and
printmaking. The purpose and focus of the exhibitions is to showcase
the work of artists who incorporate printmaking or paper into their
work. Through the exhibitions, talks, and programs, Muskat Studios
presents work to the public that broadens the definition and scope of
printmaking and art. The Studio offers special programming throughout
the year, including artist talks, workshops, open houses and
printmaking demonstrations.
PHILOSOPHY: "This is a small shop with an emphasis on personalized collaboration. I strive to help artists who are new to printmaking, as well as those with experience, to work with confidence and enthusiasm. The focus is on the artwork and the artist's experience. The quality of the work is critical. I want to do everything possible to enable the artist to do his or her best work." CAROLYN M. MUSKAT
