
Muskat Studios is a professional lithography studio and gallery, owned and operated by Master Printer Carolyn Muskat. Anchored within a 200 year old tradition of collaboration and artistic creation, the studio provides a center for artists to explore lithography. Muskat Studios prides itself on its ability to offer artists an open, professional atmosphere in which to develop their images.
Muskat Studios specializes in the creation of original lithographs in collaboration with regional and national artists. We provide a significant resource to artists looking to produce exceptional prints. The studio offers special programming throughout the year, including artist talks, workshops, open houses and printmaking demonstrations to present work to the public that broadens the definition and scope of printmaking and art.

PHILOSOPHY: “This is a small shop with an emphasis on personalized collaboration. I strive to help artists who are new to printmaking, as well as those with experience, to work with confidence and enthusiasm. The focus is on the artwork and the artist’s experience. The Studiois equipped with three lithographic presses – a large motorized Takach press and two Fuchs & Lang presses – allowing for print sizes up to 32 x 44″. The Studio also has a small Takach intaglio press for special projects. Materials supplied by the studio include over 50 stones, aluminum plates, photo-litho plates, polyester plates, paper, drawing materials and inks.
Carolyn Muskat holds a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA and is a Tamarind Master Printer. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across the country. Recent exhibitions include “Ink-Wipe-Roll-Print” at the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University and “New England Impressions: The Master Printers” at the Concord Art Association. Ms. Muskat is a Visiting Faculty Member at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, and the Massachusetts College of Art & Design. She has been invited to be a visiting artist at the Hanoi Fine Art Center in Hanoi, Vietnam.
